FAQ
Membership & Data
Are membership and data synced across multiple devices?
Yes. After purchasing a membership on one device, log in with the same Apple ID on your other devices. Go to the eTicket membership purchase page and tap "Restore Purchases" in the bottom right corner. Your data will sync from iCloud shortly.
How do I restore my membership/data after reinstalling or getting a new device?
After reinstalling or switching to a new device, go to the eTicket membership purchase page and tap "Restore Purchases" in the bottom right corner. Your data will sync from iCloud shortly.
12306 Ticket Sync
Why does my 12306 account log out automatically after a while?
Due to API restrictions from 12306 and iOS system limitations, the 12306 login session cannot be maintained for long periods (enabling "Background App Refresh" can extend the login state slightly). We recommend logging in only when you need to sync tickets. All other features work perfectly without a 12306 login.
Can tickets bought by others for me be synced?
Yes. Go to eTicket Settings > Link 12306 Account, and complete the personal identity verification.
Can tickets bought for others using my 12306 account be synced?
Yes. Go to eTicket Settings > 12306 Settings, and turn off "Only sync my tickets".
Are there other ways to automatically sync tickets besides logging into 12306?
We recommend setting up an automated Apple Shortcut. This allows the app to automatically extract ticket information and update refund/change statuses upon receiving a 12306 order confirmation email.
For detailed configuration, please refer to Auto-import via 12306 Email.
Live Activities
Having multiple Live Activities for connecting tickets clutters the Lock Screen. How can I change this?
Tap the LIVE button in the bottom right corner of the "Journey" page to adjust the Live Activity start time for your connecting journey. We recommend setting it to turn on 15 or 30 minutes before departure.
The Live Activity shows on my iPhone but not on my Apple Watch.
Tap the turn-off button on the bottom right corner of the Lock Screen Live Activity to restart it. Usually, restarting the Live Activity will sync it properly to your Apple Watch.
Failed to start Live Activity, prompting "Maximum number of Live Activities reached".
iOS limits the number of Live Activities an app can start or schedule. Tap the LIVE button on the "Journey" page to cancel a Live Activity scheduled for a later date, and then turn it on for your current journey.
Import via Screenshot
1. Sharing 12306 order details to eTicket doesn't trigger the "Import via Screenshot" pop-up.
This usually happens when switching between a TestFlight build and the App Store release.
Try swiping up to force close the eTicket app from the background and try again.
2. Why can't the app recognize the check-in gate?
The "My Tickets" page in the 12306 app doesn't contain check-in gate information, so it cannot be recognized.
Usually, the "Order Details" page does have check-in gate info. You can import via this page instead: On the order details page, tap the "..." in the top right corner > Share with friends, and select "eTicket" from the share sheet.
Additionally, don't worry if the ticket is imported without a check-in gate. The system will automatically fetch the train status and check-in gate as departure approaches.
3. Why do some screenshots fail to be recognized even when the info is present?
If the screenshot has been altered, drawn over, is of low resolution, or uses special fonts, recognition will be affected. We recommend sharing the raw, unedited screenshot of the Railway 12306 app directly to eTicket.
Widgets
1. Seat numbers aren't showing on the Widget.
When it's still early before departure, the widget only shows brief information to protect your privacy. As departure nears, the widget will automatically refresh to display detailed info like your seat number, check-in gate, and delay status.
You can adjust this specific timing by going to eTicket Settings > Journey Time Settings > Widget Journey Details Display Time.
Apple Wallet
1. The Wallet pass design is quite plain. Can it be styled like the tickets in the app?
Unfortunately, no. Apple Wallet's capabilities are highly restrictive. Each type of Wallet pass has a fixed layout. For transit passes, we can only make minor adjustments to layout and colors; all other elements cannot be modified.
2. I've added a ticket to eTicket; how do I add it to Apple Wallet/Calendar?
Tap the 1st button on the bottom left of the ticket card to add it to your Calendar, and the 2nd button to add it to Apple Wallet.
After updating the ticket's contents, you can tap these buttons again to sync the new information to your Calendar and Wallet.
Note: The "Ticket Folder" page defaults to a compact list format. Tap the button in the top left corner of the page to switch to the card view.
3. Why is there a large blank space at the bottom of the Wallet pass?
The overall layout of the Wallet pass is fixed by iOS. The bottom area is designed to display a QR code. However, 12306 train ticket QR codes are dynamically generated and expire quickly even if added to the pass, so we leave this area blank.
4. I manually edited the ticket after adding it to Wallet/Calendar, but the info didn't update there.
After manually editing the ticket content, simply tap the Wallet/Calendar button on the bottom left of the ticket again to push the update.
5. The ticket doesn't show on the Lock Screen after being added to Wallet.
As departure approaches or when you are near the station, the ticket will automatically appear on your Lock Screen (specific display conditions are determined by iOS).
If these conditions are met but the ticket still doesn't appear, open the Wallet app, find the ticket, tap the "..." menu > Pass Details, and turn on the "Show on Lock Screen" toggle.
6. It's inconvenient to unlock the phone to view ticket details on the Lock Screen.
Go to iOS Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Allow Access When Locked, find "Wallet", and toggle it on. (This is a long page; the option is located near the bottom).
7. I can't find the option to add to Wallet on my iPad.
iPadOS does not support the Apple Wallet pass feature, so you cannot add tickets to Wallet from an iPad.
You can import the ticket on your iPhone and add it to Wallet there, or import it on your iPad, allow it to sync via iCloud to your iPhone (logged into the same Apple ID), and then add it to Wallet from your iPhone.
